Agnitum deploys 500-user installation of Outpost Network Security for Munich Trade Show organizers

SAN JOSE, CA. and ST. PETERSBURG, RUSSIA, 6 Sept. 2006 - Agnitum Ltd., a leading software firewall vendor, announced today the successful deployment of Outpost Network Security across 500 desktop and laptop computers at Messe Munich GmbH, the second-largest trade show organizer in Germany.

Messe Munich uses Outpost Network Security to protect against Internet-borne security threats and prevent unauthorized data leakage from the company.

Messe Munich selected Outpost Network Security after an extensive onsite evaluation in which three security products were tested for:

  • A reliable defense for desktop and mobile PC users against hackers, Trojans, spyware, keyloggers, and other malicious software.

  • Easy-to-use administration controls that require minimal IT resources to manage.

  • Robust protection for corporate electronic assets as well as for customers' and partners' data held on company PCs.

  • A cost-effective, comprehensive security solution.

"My IT team is small, and we can't afford to spend a lot of time taking care of end-point security," said Stefan Schuessler, manager of IT Infrastructure, Messe Munich. "We needed a robust, reliable and secure solution that would require minimal IT resources to deploy and maintain."

One of the main reasons Messe Munich selected Outpost Network Security is that the firewall provides data protection for all employee PCs, regardless of where those employees are working from.

"Many of our employees spend a lot of time on the road, meeting with customers and partners. With Outpost Network Security, we can safeguard our own assets as well as those of our customers and partners stored on our computers - no matter where they are in the world," said Schuessler.

"Agnitum's focus with Outpost Network Security has always been to provide a robust yet cost-effective security solution that can be easily deployed and maintained in a corporate environment," said Mikhail Penkovsky, vice president of Sales and Marketing at Agnitum. "We are happy to have been awarded this opportunity in the face of some tough competition, as we truly believe our solution is an excellent match for the security requirements of both smaller and growing organizations, Messe Munich GmbH is an important addition to our growing family of corporate customers."
