1. Report client configuration to Outpost Network Security Command Center
Please download the configuration sender tools and install in client side.

There are two methods to allow the application in client side.
Method A:
It will pop up windows to create rules. Please select one and press “OK”. allow all activities for this application – trust application stop all activities for this application – block application create rules using preset – seem allow once.

Method B:
You can add the application to trusted application/ partially allowed applications/block application. Here is a sample for add a new rules for application.
Click “add” and browse the application then click”open”.

It may pop up a rules window . You can create a new rules or just click ”OK”.

When finish the configuration , please open C:\Program Files\Agnitum\Outpost Network Security\Security Client and use the cfg_sender.exe to report the rules to command center

Double click “cfg_sender.exe” and Click “Next”.

Select the application rules and Send to command center , click “Next”.

Select the system rules and send to command center, click “Next”.

Select the group and update the rules, click “Next”.

Click “Finish” to send out the rules.

You also can check the setting in server side.
Open the Command Center and select the group -> Configure security settings->application rules.

2. How to set block most application and stop to pop up the message?
Please open Command Center first and select the group then “click” configure security settings.
Select client firewall policy to block most and “click” run client firewall in background mode(do not display system tray icon)

Notice: You must set allow some application in this policy. If not, it will block many applications.
3. How to set password to protect the setting of Outpost Network Security Client?
Please open Command Center first and select the group then “click” configure security settings.

“Click” Password and choose enable password protection for client firewall settings. Please enter your password.

4. How to edit the application rules?
Please open Command Center first and select the group then “click” configure security settings.

You can view the rules of this group’s application rules. Some familiar application should define by default.

There are protocol and port setting.

Please select the application and “click” edit, you can view the application rules and edit the identify method of application.

Rules flow: The rules priority is run application rules first and then run the global rules.
Please open Command Center first and select the group then “click” configure security settings. “Click” global rules, choose the rules and “click” edit

You can edit the rules, (ex. direction, Local port, allow it, block it…..), you can select the port number which you want to block or allow it. “Click” ok to finish the Setting

6. How often will Command Centre override the setting?
Usually client configuration is updated each 10 minutes (by default).
7. How to export/import rules?
Open Command Center, click “Client Computer” -> ”Default Group” -> “Configure security setting”-> “Advanced” , Click “Export”, type the name and save configuration file.

Open Command Center, click “Client Computer” -> ”Default Group” -> “Configure security setting”-> “Advanced” , Click “Import”, select the configuration file.


8. How to block the illegal connection and show warning?
For example, block a remote program and ip 202.123.123.123

9. How to ensure that client is updated with the new rule set?

You will see a window automatic rules creation in right hand side or downloaded how many rules.
10. How to add new application rules?
First, add group and then type the group name. Click “Next”.

Add some custom rules. After created the rules, click “Next”.

Please click “add the application”, type the path/browse the execute file and name then click “Next”.

Please select “Application file name” and click “Next”.

Click “Finish”.
